Content Manager
Qualifications.
The content manager delivers highly relevant content at the right moment. It’s no longer a disruption to the social experience, it’s authentic engagement. The marriage of design and content really can drive results — leading to increased conversations, better click-throughs, higher reach, and positive reception. The Content Manager helps build brand engagement through functional, strong user experiences, content development and design coordination. You’ll be on the front line, working directly with the client, strategists, third-party writers and our creative team to bring their story to its greatest potential.
Content managers are comfortable managing a team of internal or external writers and resources. Content managers are excellent communicators, they are investigative in nature, and they are both punctual and technically proficient.
Responsibilities.
COPYWRITING
- Editing and producing copywriting to sell, persuade and call users to action on homepages, service pages, landing pages, email campaigns, advertisements
- Collaborates with design/web team to provide content that brings interactive elements to life
- Organizes and aids in the development of creative assets for strategy (graphic design, video production, print materials, etc.)
- Coordinates email marketing campaign concepts and oversee email plan for campaigns
CONTENT WRITING
- Content writing for websites, blog posts, articles, eBooks, lists, infographics & other media
- Draft press releases when necessary
- Organizes and aids in the development of creative assets for strategy (graphic design, video production, print materials, etc.)
STRATEGIC & ADMINISTRATIVE
- Conducts primary and secondary exploratory research to inform various planning components, including target audience analysis and segmentation, literature reviews, industry assessments, competitive reviews, communications audits, and traditional and digital media measurements
- Supports the internship program and advise interns on programmatic efforts and high-level projects
- Comfortably present project details and concepts through written, verbal and visual presentation
- Works with strategists to develops and manages client content plans and publication schedules
- Coordinates with clients on projects and serves as a liaison to creative
- Provides leadership and coaching to junior team members & interns
- Drives long-term content strategy, the development of branding and communications strategies with social strategy and creative
- Supports the development of various monthly performance and quarterly reports (e.g. reports for publication notes, surveys, focus groups, in-depth interviews, etc.)
- Track your time and manage your tasks using our management software
- Manages outsourced content production, editing and approval process from concept to finished product
- Ability to recognize levels of writing skills and assign projects accordingly
Specifications.
Required
- Enjoy the process of writing and editing as your primary role and responsibility
- Knowledge of design process for social & web assets, carrying a design concept from ideation to completion in a well-planned & thoughtful manner
- 2 year college degree or equivalent experience
- Excellent web writing and editing skills
- Strong organizational and project management skills and experience working with a variety of source materials
- Evidence of career progression with growth and commitment
- Experience with G Suite & Microsoft Office
- A smart phone with ability to sync email and calendar
- Ability to prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Great written and interpersonal communication skills
- Desire to do what it takes to be the best at what you do
- Strong follow-up and follow-through skills to ensure assets & information are received in a timely manner
Preferred
- Experience writing short copy for paid search and paid social ads
- Experience with technical SEO writing
- Experience with ghostwriting
- Evidence of creative contributions to successful marketing or advertising campaigns
- BA/BS in English, Journalism, Communications, or related field
- 1 year experience working in an agency environment
- Understanding of key performance metrics for paid Search and Social advertising
- Continuing education program certifications
- Membership in a local industry-related special interest group
Desired
- Previous entrepreneurial experience / entrepreneurial attitude / desires
- Holds certifications for Google Adwords and Google Analytics, Facebook Blueprint
- Outside interests – hobbies, active roles in organizations, community involvement
- Experience with project management and time tracking software, especially Asana & Harvest
- Experience managing direct reports
